How’s Your Sleep?

RCP_Sleep Poster2015_Layout 2The CDC has declared insufficient sleep – inability to fall asleep, inability to stay asleep, lack of restful sleep, early wakening – a public health epidemic.

“Persons experiencing sleep insufficiency are also more likely to suffer from chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, depression, and obesity, as well as from cancer, increased mortality, and reduced quality of life and productivity.”

And the problems don’t stop there. Being tired at work diminishes productivity and creativity, and clear thinking. Work-related accidents can occur. Drowsy driving is also linked to thousands of motor vehicle accidents. But I’m guessing that you already know all this.

The good news is that Yoga can help!
